Our beautiful little girl told me she loves me last night and I feel like my heart is going to pop.
Excuse this slushy post, but remember, this blog is for b to look back at when she is older and I am a big slush puppy myself, growing up in a very loving family. It will turn to a normal post once I have explained this tear jerking, heart wrenching moment. Oh, I wish I had started this blog earlier and captured our many, many special moments that have gone before!
B has come on leaps and bounds with her speech of late, putting words together and giving us instructions. Bless her heart, she likes to say ‘ready, Steady, go’ in her own way, have the briefest conversations on her little phone that usually consist of ‘hello, hi daddy, love you, bye’ and she likes to boss poor tinky around now. Yes, prince daddy has had the joys of her saying she loves him for a few days now, but last night, as I closed her bedroom door and said ‘ love you Bella’ a sweet and tired little voice answered back ‘love you mummy’ oh my goodness!!!!! I rushed back in and gave her such a squeeze, Wanted to eat her up and had to tear myself away! My heart is popping now just thinking about her
Tomorrow is going to be a big day. shreck here, is helping demonstrate weeing in the potty….
With the help of a syringe of water to wee wee with!!!
21 pairs of clever girl pants are waiting….
Yummy, healthy, frozen yoghurt drops as treats.
Just put your yoghurt in a bag, make a tiny hole and put loads of blobs on a sheet to go in the freezer. They only take an hour and are a smashing little treat.
B has already been exploring potty corner and here she is looking at the stickers she can get if she wee wees in the right place! So all the prep is done and tomorrow I am going for it. No messing, no nappies or pull ups, just plenty of puddles and wet pants to tackle. Wish me luck! I’ve got a clear week ahead, the weather is set to turn nasty, so I am staying home and am going to do my best at operation wet pants!I think the bottles of home brew may be thinning by the end of the week along with my sanity but it’s got to be done at some point hasn’t it!
Other things then…. B and I have been having a nice time sitting in the warm and fragrant green house eating our way through daddy’s tomatoes.
It’s proved a really good lesson in learning the colours green and red!
The weather is bright and sunny, but cold now, so away my summer clothes have gone, up into the loft….
And it is time to investigate my rosehips. The bush is heaving and bursting with beautiful, crimson goodness.
Not quite ready for cooking up, but there’s a frost due at the end of the week so I should be able to get them at the weekend.
But they are ready to use to make things pretty….
Like adorning my welcome sign and my little flower jar by the back door….
Next, I have my eye on these little juicey beauties….
I have so much Hawthorne in the garden. The birds love it, but they can share a small portion for me to cook up some jelly. It’s a tedious and painful job picking the hawes, but so good for lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.
Beware parents!!! You may be getting another jar of red stuff very soon!!!!
I’ve been looking at my door hanging and it’s missing something..
Some lovely rosehips!
There! Much better!
And a sewing needle goes through the stems so easily!
Our garden seems to be having a final flourish at the moment. I thought I had seen the last of the sweet peas but along with everything else, they are enjoying (and so are we) their swan song.
So vibrant, and their colour matches their fragrance.
My Echinacea is blooming once again….
And my happy little climbers are their best yet.
The monster climbers that are taking over are now producing lovely looking squashes…
And the marigolds are sunshines on stems.
And there is corn on the Cobb! It’s a tentative time though. This time last year, the winds ruined our corn plants.
So life continues as it always does, and will, in cycles. The same…. And
yet in b’s case…. So different.
I will let you know how operation wet pants goes!
Until then xxxxxxxxxxxx
