What an amazing, burning tree. A wonderful picture of Autumn here in Nottinghamshire. This was taken at rufford abbey, one of b’s favourite places to run around and explore. We spent a lovely afternoon here with our friends from Cornwall, following the Halloween trail.
There are wood carvings hidden away, scattered around the woods there. B loved the little toadstools…
And loved all the extra playmates she had living with her for five days.
My little friend enjoyed throwing leaves at us, and being rained on by us all throwing them on her!
We spent a glorious afternoon at newstead abbey where beebop was thrilled to have some daddy time.
And although it was freezing cold, our hearts were warm…
And our tummies, as I made some hot cranberry cider to warm us all up!
There is a lovely little playground and b was fascinated about daddys voice talking to her through the flower. Do you like her helmet hat? I made it at the beginning of the year for when she goes on the back of daddys bike. It keeps her ears and neck lovely and toasty and was made from recycled wool that I used from an old scarf!
On Saturday morning, us adults had a rare grownups outing whilst b spent the morning with granny and granddad. We went to go ape in Sherwood pines. It’s zip wires and high wires. It was wonderful fun, even though it was freezing. There was snow on the ground when we got up that morning! If you look very closely, at the top of the rope ladder, you can see one of our friends waving to us!
B enjoyed a local garden centre
And the local park
But especially enjoyed granddads old policemans helmet from the 1960’s!
We took her to a local farm park
And a children’s Halloween party at our local pub…
Dressed as a ladybird…. Of course!
Daddy did some face painting…
And made a wonderful spiders Webb
And a spider on her hand
It was all very exciting.
And that night, we had a Halloweeny night out, thanks to my lovely mum and dad. I’m the saber toothed tiger! Or that’s what I interpreted my old wizard of oz lion outfit as! M adapted his scarecrow Costume to look like a demented scarecrow! I’m very proud to say that we both made our own costumes!!!
We also had Christmas arrive early as my wonderful sister sent us her children’s hand-me-down toys and books. B and I had a smashing afternoon searching through it all.
She especially loved her big cousins old fairy wings…
And witch mask! Well…. No crafts in this post, but lots of lovely memories… See you very soon xxxx
