Hello my lovelies xx
Well, I’m having a little sit down for a moment and thought I’d say hi to you and share a new tutorial.
My goodness!! It’s been so rainy and miserable today.
Our weather clock has been on our snowy snowman in March! Bizarre!
I’ve not been outside at all. I quite like it though. I like cosying up as you know and I’m sure you appreciate. I will be glad to see the back of this freezing, cold weather of course, but there is something I like about it in short spells and it really makes it more wonderful when the sun eventually comes out. Oh my word, I’m babbling on!
It’s been mothers day, here in the UK. My lovely sister set me a challenge and crikey! It kept me busy! She loves wonderwoman and it seemed a fitting tribute to our mum, so she asked me to fathom the logo. Well…. I tried doing a zigzag pattern…. Too wide…. Tried a ripple pattern…. Not quite right, so in the end I made each straight edge of the logo and pieced it together. By gum! As they say up north…. It took a while!! Any how, I’m pleased with the result but it could be neater!
And I made my lovely mum a little owl for her card from me as she is a very, very wise owl and I hope that me and my little owlette turn out to be as wise and kind. Xxxx
Ah, look at my little owlette here! It is on her birthday and she is so excited! We endured two hours of softplay, sweatbox hell for her with her toddler pals and she had a fantastic time!
Here she is with one of her birthday presents. I’ve mentioned before that my musical ear detects talent here, but crikey mikey! It is in short supply on this machine as she belts out the demonstration buttons!
I’ve been busy with easter projects here too! Here, amidst my yarn you can see my little duckling egg cosies. Waiting for their little hats to be made. And here they are….
Mummy duckling
Daddy duckling
Skater boy duckling… And….
Pompom hat duckling.
Aren’t they lovely! I did these for a lady but imagine her little ones faces when their dippy eggs arrive with these chirpy fellows on top.
Today, it’s been bunnies and I’m going to show you how to make this lovely little bun
Chain 8 and slipstitch to make a ring…
And then make a further 15 double crochets into the ring (UK trebles)
Slip stitch to close the round.
Now, chain 8 to form the first ear….
And do a double crochet into the 4th chain from the hook.
And continue to double crochet to the bottom of the chain. single crochet into the next stitch and again in the next stitch.
Now chain 8 again and repeat the process above…
Now single crochet all around the head until you meet the first ear again.
And slip stitch into the crease below the ear. But your wool but leave a good length and fasten off.
Now thread your wool and weave all the way around the ears. It will strengthen them nicely and stop them flopping about.
Now pull the yarn from the central hole really tight to close the ring. Now thread that piece and stitch across the hole several times to secure.
Thread some pink wool and over the hole make three stitches, slightly decreasing the length each time. Fasten off in a knot on the reverse.
Thread some black wool and make two eyes….
And then choose some wool to make a sweet little bow. Thread through the ear and tie.
There we have it. Really fast to make and so sweet and pretty.
You could make a lovely easter wreath or garland with them. Or sew them onto something.
I’d love to see your pictures of them. Look me up on facebook under windyhilldays and share your pictures with me or just say hi! Even better, leave me a comment on here, It Would be lovely to hear from you.
Goodnight world, and good blessings xxxxx
