Once a year, my big old ash, lovingly known as ‘big tree’ sighs a great big sigh and breathes out all his troubles, releasing his leaves in one giant drop. Or that is how it seems. Where other trees release their withered leaves over several weeks, big tree seems to take a deep breath and lets them drop all at once. It is quite something. Something I’m not sure I would ever notice if I didn’t have such a loved, big old ash tree in my garden or the fortune to have the time at home to witness it.
He has scattered my garden with a carpet of yellow leaves….
Which will wither away eventually over the coming months….
Big tree…. Have a good rest this winter and shelter us from the sun once more next year please x
I have had a yummy, ribbony project to play with over the last week. An idea I have gratefully stolen from pinterest….
It has involved felt, lace, Ribbons, cardboard and glue….
Pins and sequins! Oh! It has been fabulous!
A witches shoe! Here it is before its laces were added…
And here it is finished, in all its splendour! I am totally envious as I would gladly wear such amazing boots!
Little sequins imitate the shoelace holes….
Now, would a bad witch wear such fabulous boots? My mum is often called a white witch as she is so clever with her remedies, so these boots are for a good witch!!!!
I’ve framed it….
And hung it….
On my front door! So many pictures of my witches boot but I love it!!!!
A few more felt bats on windows….
And we’re nearly there….. Not finished yet…. I have more to show you, and ive not forgotten my bat pattern…. I am just a little short of time tonight.
Until next time….. Here is b climbing in my fridge!!!!! Xxxxxxx
