I seem to have inherited some wood!
60 tonnes of it….
It’s been a very strange week!!!!
Besides being way-laid with massive amounts of tree trunks, I finished my wreath. Isn’t it cute? Lots of happy little gingerbread men laid on what was once my dads wire coat hanger!
I had ten little card templates, which I backed with felt on both sides. I used bostick glue and felt glue and then cut them out. I then added my new obsession … Ric-rac…
And glued it in place with pins on the reverse. Once I had all the details glued on, I just used the glue gun and went mad with it!
Having to wedge various implements under it to hold it close to the wire.
I then bent the hook of the hanger up and stuck my middle gingerbread man on it! He’s a happy little soul isn’t he! I’m really pleased with it and little b loves it too!
We had another pomegranate session today, and I wanted to share with you a little tip to make eating them easier. First, slice your pomegranate east to west and fill up a jug of water. Now, little b loved the next bit and I got some bruised fingers from it!!!
Hit the pomegranate on its skin all over it and let the seeds drop into the jug.
When you’ve done both sides you will notice that the rogue bits of yellow pith will float. Simply scoop them out….
Drain….
And eat!!!! Easy-peasy!
This little box is decorated in the papers I got from the scrap store and looks lovely under my tree. It contains lots and lots of children’s Christmas books, all individually wrapped. We are really enjoying this little Christmas tradition of gathering on the rug with Christmas music on and warming ourselves by the fire before bed whilst we read one each night. Little b is enjoying choosing her book and ripping off the paper a little more than sitting still and reading the book. I think because they are a little old for her as I bought books that would last for several years. She is a massive fan of books so I’m sure she’ll settle in to it soon. Anyhow…. Until I finish my last little Christmas decoration project to hang above the fire, here is one more sneaky peek into our Christmas wonderland. Night xxxxx
